Milagro house programming & vision concepts | Lancaster, pa

The Milagro House, located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, provides education, housing, and support to young mothers with children who would otherwise be facing homelessness. The client's mission is to prepare and train the young women who go through the programs at the Milagro House with skills and education to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, moving from the women's status from total dependency to self-sufficiency. Richard F. Mula Architects was commissioned to work with the Milagro House to program a new building for approximately 20 new residence suites for the mothers and children as well as the supporting common spaces for living, child care, education, and administration. My task for this project was to work on the program to fit the require spaces within the foot-print of the existing building. Next, my task was to provide the client with rendered images of the programmed spaces so they could understand the spaces and use the images for marketing and fund-raising purposes. This project is currently in its fund-raising phase.

wegman's distribution center | ashland, Virginia

The Wegman's Distribution Center, planned to be constructed in Ashland, Virginia, is a large warehouse project consisting of two warehouse buildings and an administration building. Richard F. Mula Architects was commissioned to design and document the administration building phase of the project, while Providence Engineering was responsible for the documentation of the warehouse structures. The administration building is a connection between the two large warehouse structures where offices, training facilities, testing areas, and human resources are available to Wegman employees. The administration building features a large cafeteria and a patio for the staff. My responsibility throughout the project was to complete the construction document drawings and renderings for specific spaces. This allowed the client to see the materials they chose in the spaces before it was constructed. This project is currently waiting for the approval of permits to continue to the construction phase.
