Bethlehem memorial pool | bethlehem, Pennsylvania
The Bethlehem Memorial Swimming Facility Renovation project involved many players. Urban Research & Development Corporation of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania was the firm directly working with the city. Spillman Farmer Architects of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania was commissioned to rennovated the existing bathhouse. Wallover Architects was responsible for the work directly addressing the aging swimming pool structure and filter room. With a visit to the site to gather existing conditions, Wallover Architects determined that the existing pool would be beyond repair. Between the massive aging pool structure and out-dated filter room equipment, WA advised the project would be less costly to demolish the existing pool and build a new pool structure. Wallover Architects presented plans to the city with a pool structure consisting of 3 bodies of water: an eight lane competition size pool with diving boards and starter blocks, a beach access splash pool with a dump bucket, and an activity pool with slides. My task for this project was to spearhead the development of the construction documents from start to completion. This documentation included the three pools, slides and water feature equipment, immediate grounds surrounding the pool area, and the layout of the new piping and equipment of the filter room.
Seaspray Park | Seaside, New Jersey
Wallover Architects was commisioned to design a zero-depth spray park on the boardwalk in Seaside, New Jersey. The owner desired a facility for families to come play, rest, eat, and enjoy the day on the boardwalk. It gave families with children, from toddlers up to the age of 12, the option of aquatic play off the beach. This facility would include an aquatic play area for a maximum capacity of 300 guests, first and second floor decks for adult supervision with lounge chairs provided, office area for ticketing, changing/toilet facilities, a snack stand, and an on-site first aid office. The aquatic play area would include various interactive spray features with an ocean theme, a spray structure with slides and dumping bucket, and interactive toddler play features manufactured by Rain Drop. The second floor provided two areas where large groups could gather for parties; one was an uncovered deck location and the second was and area that included access to an indoor area. My resposibilities for the project was to design and document the project from schematic design to construction documents independently. Additionally, I was responsible for communicating with the MEP and structural consultants to coordinate the work for this project.
Blue Cypress Park | Jacksonville, Florida
Wallover Architects was the aquatic consultant for the PQH Group Design Inc of Jacksonville, Florida. The PQH Group was hired to renovate an aging existing aquatic facility at Blue Cypress Park in Jacksonville. Wallover Architects was responsible for the design of the new pool structure, immediate grounds surrounding the pool structure, and the equipment design of the filter room PQH Group provided in their new pool house design. The pool structure included two connected bodies of water. One body of water was an eight lane competition pool and the second was a half-round wading pool for instruction. The pool was fully accessible with a ramp located in the wading pool area. The pool walls in the wading pool area provided bench seating. My responsibilities for this project were to model the pool structure as a Revit family to integrate into PQH Group's master model. Additionally, I had spearheaded the task of creating the construction documentation of the pools and the filter room equipment.
